The Essence Festival in New Orleans is an annual celebration of Black culture, music, and empowerment, drawing attendees from all over the globe. Each year, iTravel2Getaway organizes a group trip to this iconic event, and 2024 marked our biggest group yet! Day 1 Highlights of the Essence Festival 2024
The first night of the 2024 Essence Festival was a musical feast. The lineup included Jacquees, The Roots featuring Mickey Guyton (my favorite country singer), Ari Lennox, T-Pain, Raphael Saadiq, Busta Rhymes, and a special 30-year anniversary celebration of Cash Money featuring the Cash Money Millionaires and Young Money.
Raphael Saadiq had everyone singing and dancing along with his soulful performance. It was a night to remember, setting the tone for an epic weekend at the Essence Fest. If this sounds like your kind of night, make sure to book your spot for next year!
Day 2 Highlights of the Essence Festival 2024
On the second morning, we hosted our annual meet and greet brunch in NOLA. It was a lively event with fun contests, giveaways, and a grand prize raffle for a trip for two to the 2025 Essence Fest. The lucky winner was Ms. Tina, a dedicated client who has attended every Essence Fest with us and even booked trips to Brazil, Paris, London, and Venice. Her joy was infectious, reminding us why we love what we do.
The second night of the Essence Festival was nothing short of spectacular. The reunion of TGT, Arya Starr, D-Nice presenting Tweet, Lloyd, Method Man, Machel Montano, Charlie Wilson, and the main attraction for the night, Usher, brought the house down. Uncle Charlie's performance was golden, and TGT's reunion was phenomenal. The energy was electric, and we danced the night away under the New Orleans sky.
Day 3 Highlights of the Essence Festival 2024
The final night was a fitting climax to an extraordinary weekend. Victoria Monet, SWV, and the legendary Janet Jackson graced the stage. A special tribute to Frankie Beverly & Maze featuring Anthony Hamilton and Luke James left the audience in awe. Frankie Beverly and Maze's final performance was a poignant and beautiful conclusion to the festival, marking the end of an era.
Reflecting on Growth at the Essence Festival
Looking back at our journey, it's incredible to see how far we've come. From bringing a group of just 25 people to the Essence Fest five years ago to having 72 attendees this year, our growth has been phenomenal. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has supported iTravel2Getaway. Your trust and enthusiasm drive us to make each year's trip better than the last.
